You’ve likely received notifications from many, many web sites about updates to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policies. Here’s another one.
We have updated our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to comply as best we can with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are unaware of any subscribers being based in Europe, but we thought it best to take steps to align our terms of service and privacy policy with the new standards, as many other web sites have done.
Basically, we collect personal information necessary to process your subscription and payment and to provide our service to you. We do not disclose your personal data to others beyond vendors we use to manage our subscriptions, process credit card payments and learn about how our users experience our site. We communicate with you via the email address you provided at sign-up to let you know when we’ve published new content, to resolve customer service and billing issues and to alert you about the status of your subscription. You may opt out of these communications.
We also collect information about your user experience, such as the operating system of the device you’re using, your IP address and how you navigate our site. We use this information to help improve your experience. We may share aggregated information – NOT personal information – with third parties to help us improve your experience.
