Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the deadline for political parties to submit their certified candidate lists to the Secretary of State’s office. Our Crib Sheets have been updated with the latest information we have, including a list of Libertarian candidates posted on the party’s website. We hope to have clarity on who did and did not file by the end of the week.
SD8 (Likely R): Former President Trump endorsed Sen. Angela Paxton (R-McKinney) for re-election.
SD11 open (Likely R): The National Rifle Assoc. Political Victory Fund endorsed Rep. Mayes Middleton (R-Wallisville).
HD52 open (Lean R): The Texas Assoc. of Realtors TREPAC endorsed Caroline Harris (R).
HD68 (Safe R): Nocona boot manufacturer Craig Carter (R) was arrested December 15 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other media reports. The alleged incident occurred in Fort Worth. Carter, who has previously run for SD30, is one of three candidates challenging Rep. David Spiller (R-Jacksboro) in the primary.
Tarrant County: Former President Trump endorsed Tim O’Hare (R) for county judge over former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price (R) and others.
