HD4 open: Gun Barrel City resident Earl Brunner established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Terrell). Brunner has already filed as a Republican for the CD5 seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Dallas).

HD47: Bee Cave resident Patty Vredevelt established a campaign committee for a potential primary challenge of Rep. Paul Workman (R-Austin).

HD63: Flower Mound resident Richard Wolf established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of Rep. Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound). We were unable to identify him conclusively.

HD78: El Paso computer programmer Jeff Lane re-established a campaign committee for a potential rematch against Rep. Joe Moody (D-El Paso), who defeated Lane, 63%-37%, in the 2016 general election.

HD81: Odessa bank employee Armando Gamboa established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of Rep. Brooks Landgraf (R-Odessa) as a Democrat. He would be the first Democrat to run for the seat since 2004.

HD89 open: Murphy resident and longtime Collin Co. Justice of the Peace John Payton established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Jodie Laubenberg (R-Wylie) as a Republican. Payton was first elected in 1990 and has been re-elected six times.

HD124: San Antonio resident Johnny Arredondo filed as a Republican to challenge Rep. Ina Minjarez (D-San Antonio). Arredondo ran unsuccessfully for the San Antonio council D4 position in May, receiving 14% of the vote. He was endorsed by Empower Texans in that race.

HD140: Houston resident Matthew Mendez filed to challenge Rep. Armando Walle (D-Houston) in the Democratic primary.

HD150: Spring landscape architect and 2016 Democratic nominee Michael Shawn Kelly filed for a rematch against Rep. Valoree Swanson (R-Spring), who defeated Kelly, 63%-37%, in the 2016 general election.

ED11: Fort Worth resident Celeste Light filed as a Democrat to challenge board member Pat Hardy (R-Fort Worth).

ED12: Dallas resident Linda Parsel filed as a Democrat to run for the seat being vacated by board member Tincy Miller (R-Dallas).

ED13: Dallas research assistant Aicha Davis filed as a Democrat to challenge board member Erika Beltran (D-Dallas) in the primary.
