Bee Cave concrete businessman Jon Cobb endorsed his former rival, Rep. Susan King, for the SD24 primary runoff.

Cobb finished third with 20% of the vote, a little more than 5K votes behind Lake Travis ophthalmologist Dawn Buckingham, who received 25% of the vote. King finished first with 27% of the vote. Cobb finished first in Coryell, Llano and San Saba Cos. and was a close second in Bell Co. King finished third or fourth in all four of those counties.

Cobb accused Buckingham of being a “political fraud” because she has campaigned as a conservative but “for years financially backed the most liberal, pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, pro-Obamacare democrats [sic] in our state.”

Cobb used a similar line of attack against Buckingham during the primary. Our research indicated that Democratic candidates received approximately 8% of the money Buckingham personally contributed between 2008 and 2014, mostly to the Travis Co. delegation, which is largely Democratic.
