Early voting concludes tomorrow (Tuesday) for June 9 local runoffs and continues until June 12 for June 16 local runoffs.

Primary Turnout: Eight states hold primary elections tomorrow (Tuesday), which will bring the total primaries to date to 21. Texas currently ranks 12th out of the 13 states that have held primary elections so far this year.

In 2016, Texas finished 29th out of the 39 states that held presidential primary elections.

LAND: Donald Trump Jr. is billed as a “special guest” for a New York City fundraiser for Comm. George P. Bush (R) on June 25.

Brazos Co.: A recount has been requested by Margaret Meece, the unsuccessful Republican runoff for district clerk. Meece, who lost to Gabriel Garcia by 143 votes, said she was concerned that a power outage on Election Day may have compromised the results.

Lubbock Co.: The chair of the Lubbock Co. Republican Party has filed a petition in district court seeking to have Lubbock Co. Constable C.J. Peterson removed from office. Peterson was charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. Peterson is not up for re-election until 2020.

Tarrant Co.: A Tarrant Co. resident has filed a petition (PDF) in district court seeking to have Tarrant Co. Constable Ruben Garcia removed from office. Garcia was observed by police officers as being “highly intoxicated” at his residence nearly a year ago.
