The Senate passed House Bill 1 by Rep. Todd Hunter (R-Corpus Christi), the House’s redistricting plan for itself, with no amendments or discussion, which is traditional for passing the other chamber’s plan for itself.

The House passed Senate Bill 4 by Sen. Joan Huffman (R-Houston), the Senate’s redistricting plan for itself, without adopting any amendments.

Both plans head to Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) desk in plenty of time to keep the filing period and primary elections on schedule.

The House will take up Senate Bill 6 by Huffman, the congressional redistricting plan, tomorrow (Saturday).

Early voting begins Monday for the November 2 constitutional, general and special elections.
