Dallas Co. election officials concluded their recount of the HD105 race and confirmed Rep. Rodney Anderson’s (R-Grand Prairie) 64-vote win over Democratic challenger Terry Meza.
It was the sixth-closest general election for a legislative seat since 1992, but it was not the closest election for the HD105 seat. Eight years ago, Rep. Linda Harper-Brown (R-Irving) defeated Bob Romano by just 19 votes.
Anderson is no stranger to close elections. This was Anderson’s second general election victory by less than 250 votes (He won the HD106 race in 2010 by 204 votes.). He also won the 2014 primary for HD105 over Harper-Brown by 358 votes.
