Provisional and overseas ballots have brought challenger Terry Meza within 69 votes of Rep. Rodney Anderson (R-Grand Prairie), who had a 101-vote lead on Election night. Meza has received 74 provisional votes to Anderson’s 24. The incumbent gained a few net votes from overseas ballots. Election officials said after Election Day that fewer than 400 provisional votes remained to be counted. A total of 455 provisional votes have so far been allocated to House races across the county. The HD105 total of 98 is the highest of any Dallas Co. House district.

It was unclear whether all provisional votes have now been counted. No meetings of the Dallas Co. Commissioners Court are currently scheduled, which means no canvass will occur this week. Counties have until Tuesday of next week to complete their canvassing of election results.

A recount may also be requested by the losing candidate.
