Early voting continues in most jurisdictions holding June 10 runoff elections.

SD8: Plano resident Brian Chaput filed paperwork establishing a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat expected to be vacated by Sen. Van Taylor (R-Plano). We are unable to determine his occupation and partisan affiliation.

HD114: Dallas resident John Turner filed paperwork establishing a campaign committee for a potential challenge of Jason Villalba (R-Dallas). We are unable to determine his occupation and partisan affiliation conclusively.

CD8: Magnolia engineer Sean Ricker filed paperwork establishing a campaign committee for a potential challenge to U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) as a Democrat. Ricker announced his intention to challenge Brady a month ago.

CD21: A day after a campaign filing indicated he would be running as an independent, 2016 Democratic nominee Tom Wakely amended his statement of candidacy to indicate he is indeed running as a Democrat. Wakely received 36% of the vote against Smith in 2016. At least nine other people have taken a formal step toward running in the Democratic primary.

CD22: Pearland registered nurse Harry Bowers filed paperwork establishing a campaign committee for a potential primary challenge of U.S. Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land).
