SD24 open: Former Gov. Rick Perry endorsed Dawn Buckingham at an event in Belton last night. According to the Killeen Daily News, Perry said, “I knew I was with the right person when some years ago I walked into McBride’s Gun Store and Dawn Buckingham is walking out with a stack of ammo and powder to load her own ammunition.” Texans for Fiscal Responsibility/Empower Texans endorsed Brent Mayes. The Farm & Ranch Freedom Alliance endorsed Rep. Susan King (R-Abilene).
HD14: The Jess Fields campaign announced the endorsements of 21 of the district’s 26 precinct chairs and five Brazos Co. Republican Party committee chairs.
HD47: The Austin American-Statesman endorsed Rep. Paul Workman (R-Austin).
HD49 open: The Austin American-Statesman endorsed Gina Hinojosa. The paper previously endorsed Hinojosa for her 2012 run for Austin ISD trustee. The Farm & Ranch Freedom Alliance endorsed Huey Ray Fischer.
