Early voting in person for the March 6 primary begins in 10 days. Early voting begins on a Tuesday this year because Monday, February 19 is a federal holiday.

SD30: Atty. Gen. Ken Paxton (R) endorsed Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Frisco) over Sen. Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls).

HD23: Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed Rep. Wayne Faircloth (R-Dickinson).

HD116: The San Antonio Express-News endorsed former Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer (D-San Antonio) over Rep. Diana Arévalo (D-San Antonio).

ED3: The San Antonio Express-News endorsed board member Marisa Pérez (D-San Antonio).

Texas Parent PAC: The Texas Parent PAC released its slate of primary endorsements, headed by Republican challenger Scott Milder, who is running against Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R). The group endorsed four Senate Republican challengers:

  • Cindy Burkett (R-Sunnyvale), challenging Sen. Bob Hall (R-Edgewood)
  • Shannon McClendon, challenging Sen. Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels)
  • Harold Ramm, challenging Sen. Charles Schwertner (R-Georgetown); and
  • Kristin Tassin, challenging Sen. Joan Huffman (R-Houston).

Challengers running against Reps. Kyle Biedermann (R-Fredericksburg), Mike Lang (R-Granbury), Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler) and Valoree Swanson (R-Spring) also received endorsements.

CD2 open: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Todd Litton in the Democratic primary for the seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Ted Poe (R-Humble).

CD7: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Lizzie Pannill Fletcher and Jason Westin in the Democratic primary to take on U.S. Rep. John Culberson (R-Houston).

CD32: The Dallas Morning News endorsed U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) and Colin Allred (D) in their respective primaries.
