SC3: Former Gov. Rick Perry endorsed challenger Michael Massengale, who he appointed to the First Court of Appeals in 2009. Perry also appointed Lehrmann, the incumbent, to the Supreme Court a day after she won a primary runoff for the seat over former Rep. Rick Green. She was appointed to fill an unexpired term while running as the Republican nominee for a full term.

SD24 open: The Austin American Statesman endorsed Reed Williams.

HD2: Rep. Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound), chair of the House Republican Caucus, and former Rep. Suzanna Hupp endorsed Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Van).

HD77 open: El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser endorsed Adolfo Lopez.

HD84: Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed Rep. John Frullo (R-Lubbock). In his three prior races for the legislature, former Rep. Jim Landtroop received more than $675K in cash and in-kind contributions from the group.

HD118: Former Harlandale ISD board president Anthony Alcoser endorsed Gabe Farias in the Democratic primary. Alcoser received 11% in the November special election.

HD127: The National Rifle Assoc. Political Victory Fund endorsed Rep. Dan Huberty (R-Humble).

CD28: The San Antonio Express-News endorsed U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo).

CD33: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram endorsed U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Fort Worth).
