Early voting for the May 5 uniform and special elections begins Monday, which is also the deadline to register to vote for the May 22 runoff elections.
CD5 open: The National Assoc. of Realtors endorsed Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Terrell) over Bunni Pounds in the Republican runoff.
CD7 open: In a press release, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee appeared to endorse Lizzie Pannill Fletcher over Laura Moser in the Democratic runoff, then retracted it, describing it as a drafting error. The DCCC previously posted negative information about Moser on its web site.
Garland: The Dallas Morning News endorsed former council member Lori Dodson for mayor.
Lewisville: The Dallas Morning News endorsed Mayor Rudy Durham for re-election.
Lake Travis ISD: Rep. Donna Howard (D-Austin) endorsed Daniel Gonzalez for an open school board seat. Gonzalez, a longtime government affairs director for the Texas Assoc. of Realtors and former legislative aide, faces three opponents. Gonzalez has also been endorsed by Sen. Dawn Buckingham (R-Lake Travis) and Rep. Paul Workman (R-Austin).
