SEN: An NBC News analysis of television and radio spending found U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso) has outspent U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R) and groups supporting him by more than 3-to-1. According to the research, O’Rourke has spent $7.3M while Cruz and his supporters have spent $2.1M.
Meanwhile, Cruz and O’Rourke will meet in their first of three scheduled debates tomorrow (Friday) at Southern Methodist Univ. in Dallas.
Also, the National Rifle Assoc. PAC endorsed Cruz.
CD3 open: The Dallas Morning News endorsed Sen. Van Taylor (R-Plano).
CD5 open: The Dallas Morning News endorsed Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Terrell).
CD7: The Lizzie Pannill Fletcher (D) campaign released a new ad, “Wrecking Ball,” focused on health care and featuring the titular wrecking ball.
Meanwhile, the campaign of U.S. Rep. John Culberson (R-Houston) released an ad, “Anita,” featuring a conversation with an Alexa-like device about the challenger.
CD23: A new National Republican Congressional Committee ad, “Know Better,” continues on a previous ad’s theme of accusing Gina Ortiz Jones (D) of being “Washington’s candidate.”
