Voter Fraud Suits: Witness testimony in a Kaufman Co. fraud case suggested voters received assistance from an election office worker in casting their ballots by mail, but several of those voters seemed confused by the process, couldn’t recall who they voted for and, in some instances, couldn’t remember voting. The Dallas Morning News’s Ray Leszcynski summariezed the testimony in a case brought by a judicial candidate who lost the Republican primary by one vote.

Meanwhile, a lawsuit has been filed contesting two Democratic primary races in Starr Co., accusing the election administrator of failing to send ballots by mail to voters and other “irregularities and maladministration.” The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a candidate who lost to incumbent County Judge Eloy Vera and another candidate who lost a district judge race. In Gregg Co., a former Longview council member has filed suit challenging her 5-vote Democratic primary loss in a county commissioner race to vote harvesters, alleging campaigns pay them to produce mail-in ballots.
