AGRIC: Comm. Sid Miller’s (R) campaign released a new video on illegal immigration and sanctuary cities featuring an endorsement by Maria Espinoza of the Remembrance Project.

SD8 open: An internal poll conducted for the Angela Paxton campaign shows her with a 47%-32% lead over Phillip Huffines. One fifth of respondents were undecided. The Public Opinion Strategies poll of 400 “likely GOP primary voters” was in the field February 16-18. The stated margin of error is ±4.9%.

SD19: Jury deliberations have begun in the federal criminal fraud trial of Sen. Carlos Uresti (D-San Antonio) and a co-defendant. In May, Uresti was charged with 11 felony counts including wire fraud, securities fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering in connection with a bankrupt frac-sand company and its executives. He has maintained his innocence throughout. Uresti is not up for re-election until 2020.

HD15 open: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed former Rep. Steve Toth (R-The Woodlands) for the seat being vacated by Rep. Mark Keough (R-The Woodlands).

HD75: The El Paso Times endorsed Rep. Mary Gonzalez (D-Clint).

HD98: Colleyville Mayor Richard Newton endorsed challenger Armin Mizani over Rep. Giovanni Capriglione (R-Southlake). Empower Texans PAC, a major supporter of Mizani, endorsed Newton during his 2016 mayoral campaign.

HD122: The Greg Abbott (R) campaign released a new ad framing voters’ choice as between “Liberal Lyle” and “Conservative Chris.”

HD134: The campaign of Rep. Sarah Davis (R-Houston) released a new ad attacking opponent Susanna Dokupil’s supporters.
