HD114 open: The Lisa Luby Ryan (R) campaign released a biographical ad, “My Story.”
SEN: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) announced they would speak at President Trump’s rally next week in Houston supporting U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R).
Meanwhile, the campaign of U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso) has begun airing its first negative ads. The trio of ads feature O’Rourke talking directly into the camera attacking U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R) votes and positions on immigration, education and health care. Links to the videos were not available.
CD8: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Democratic challenger Steven David over U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands).
CD10: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Democratic challenger Mike Siegel over U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul (R-Austin).
CD14: The Houston Chronicle endorsed U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-Pearland).
CD18: The Houston Chronicle endorsed U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Houston).
CD23: An ongoing New York Times/Siena Coll. poll shows U.S. Rep. Will Hurd (R-San Antonio) with a 15-point lead over Gina Ortiz Jones (D). Polling will continue “shortly.”
CD29 open: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Sen. Sylvia Garcia (D-Houston).
CD36: The Houston Chronicle endorsed Democratic challenger Dayna Steele over U.S. Rep. Brian Babin (R-Woodville).
