SD16: In an on-air interview with WFAA-TV’s Jason Whitley, Sen. Don Huffines (R-Dallas) said he has not decided whether he will seek re-election in 2018 and is not focused on a potential primary challenge. Huffines raised $640K during the last six months of 2016, the third highest figure among senators not on the ballot in 2016, and he was one of four such senators to raise at least $1M in contributions during the 2015-16 election cycle.

HD108: Dallas attorney Zac Duffy filed a campaign treasurer appointment for a potential challenge to Rep. Morgan Meyer (R-Dallas). Posts in his personal Twitter feed suggest he would run as a Democrat.

CD32: Garland web site developer Awbrey Hughlett filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission to challenge U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) as a Democrat.
