CD23: San Antonio former prosecutor Jay Hulings has established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of U.S. Rep. Will Hurd (R-San Antonio) as a Democrat. Hulings has previously said he would run.
CD32: Yesterday, we reported that Dallas paramedic Chris Suprun appeared to be running as a Democrat but we had not located any official campaign finance filing. We have since located one, Friends of Chris Surprun, and it is designated as a primary campaign account.
Bell Co.: County Judge Jon Burrows announced he would not seek re-election. He was first elected to the position in 1998 and has been re-elected four times.
Lampasas Co.: Former Lampasas ISD superintendent Randy Hoyer announced he would run for county judge. Incumbent Wayne Boltinghouse, who has served in the position since 2007, is not seeking re-election.
