Scorecard Released: Texans for Fiscal Responsibility/Empower Texans released its biennial scorecard, grading legislators’ votes on dozens of bills and amendments during the session. The 12 members of the House Freedom Caucus received the 12 highest grades (all above 93), and only one other House member – Rep. Cole Hefner (R-Mount Pleasant) – scored a 90. More than two thirds of the Republican caucus received scores of less than 70. No Senate Republicans scored lower than 75. The group has issued a scorecard since 2007.
Montgomery Co.: Rep. Mark Keough (R-The Woodlands) officially announced his campaign for county judge. He had previously indicated he would not seek re-election and would run for this county office instead.
