SD19 special: Early voting is underway for the September 18 special runoff election.

In Bexar Co., just 1,272 people voted in person today, the first day of early voting. That’s an improvement from the 376 who voted in person of the first day of early voting for the special election but still represents just 0.4% of the county’s registered voters living in the district.

Meanwhile, the Texas Medical Assoc. TEXPAC endorsed former Rep. and U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego (D-Alpine).

RRC: The Dallas Morning News endorsed Comm. Christi Craddick (R).

HD138: The Texas Parent PAC endorsed challenger Adam Milasincic (D) over Rep. Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston).

SEN: The campaign of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R) released a new, two-minute web ad, “Now and Then,” attacking U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso) for actions he took as a city council member in 2008. The ad features footage of constituents speaking at local meetings.

Now and Then

New ad… WATCH: If Beto O’Rourke’s own El Paso constituents couldn’t trust him then, why would the rest of Texas trust him now?

The ad covers the same issue as a recent Club for Growth Action ad that accused O’Rourke of using eminent domain to “bulldoze” a lower-income neighborhood.
