Early Voting: A total of 816 people voted in person today in Bexar Co. for the first day of early voting. More than a quarter of those ballots were cast at the Fair Oaks Ranch City Hall. In Harris Co., 23 people voted in person today in the HD139 special election, but 1,052 ballots by mail were received up to and including Monday. In Travis Co., 5,068 people voted in person on Monday, and another 3,963 ballots by mail were received up to and including Monday. In Lubbock Co., a total of 1,578 votes were cast on Monday, nearly double the day-one total from 2014.
RRC open: The Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed former Rep. Wayne Christian (R-Center).
SD24 open: Grassroots America – We the People PAC endorsed Dawn Buckingham.
HD5 open: Randy Davis, who finished third in the primary with 13% of the vote, endorsed Jay Misenheimer.
HD139 open: The Texas Parent PAC endorsed Kimberly Willis.
Austin Prop 1: Mayor Steve Adler endorsed a no vote.
