Monday is the deadline to register to vote for the November 2 constitutional amendment and general election.
LTGOV: Wimberly political analyst Matthew Dowd, a former aide to the late Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock (D) and former President George W. Bush, announced he would challenge Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) as a Democrat.
SD12 open: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) endorsed Rep. Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound).
SD28: Sen. Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) announced he would seek re-election.
HD58: Rep. DeWayne Burns (R-Cleburne) told The Texan he would seek re-election and forego a run for SD10.
HD133 open: Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed Mano DeAyala (R).
Redistricting: The proposed map for the Texas House is expected to be introduced tomorrow (Thursday). Quorum Report’s Scott Braddock tweeted that members “have now privately seen their proposed maps and some *brutal* fights are ahead.”
