CD14: Dickinson Democratic activist Sanjanetta Barnes established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of U.S. Rep. Randy Weber (R-Pearland) as a Democrat. 705459

CD26: Denton attorney Neil Durrance established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Lewisville) as a Democrat. Durrance, a former city council member and Denton Co. Democratic Party chair, unsuccessfully challenged Mayor Chris Watts in 2018 (29%). In 2010, Durrance lost a race for CD26 to Burgess, 67%-31%.

Cedar Park: Nine provisional and overseas ballots have appeared to flip the result of a city council race. Rodney Robinson now appears to have defeated P5 incumbent Heater Jefts by just 2 votes. As Election Day counting drew to a close, Jefts led Robinson by 1 vote. The vote is expected to be canvassed Monday, which would give Jefts until Wednesday to request a recount.

Dallas: Rep. Ana-Maria Ramos (D-Dallas) and the Dallas Police Assoc. endorsed council member Scott Griggs for the mayoral runoff. The group declined to endorse for the May 4 election.

Mission: Attorneys representing former Mayor Beto Salinas have filed a petition asking the Texas Supreme Court to review the case. In late March, an appellate court overruled a lower court decision ordering a new election. Salinas lost a June 2018 runoff to current Mayor Armando O’Caña by 157 votes. A lawsuit alleged more than 158 votes were cast illegally.

San Antonio: D2 candidate Denise Gutierrez-Homer, who missed the runoff after receiving 59 votes fewer than Jada Andrews-Sullivan, has requested a recount.
