HD92 open: A generic ActBlue page has been created for Fort Worth attorney Jeff Whitfield as a fundraising mechanism for a potential run for the seat being vacated by Rep, Jonathan Stickland (R-Bedford). Whitfield has not filed a campaign treasurer appointment or taken any other formal or public step toward running, as far as we can tell. Whitfield reportedly considered running for SD10 in 2018 but ultimately did not enter the race to challenge then-Sen. Konni Burton (R-Colleyville).

HD98: Former Keller council member and 2018 primary challenger Armin Mizani appointed a new campaign treasurer for his state campaign account, signaling a potential rematch against Rep. Giovanni Capriglione (R-Southlake), who defeated Mizani, 63%-37%. However, in a Facebook post, Mizani appears to be aiming more locally. “Whether it is getting our neighborhood sidewalks repaired, addressing the rise in property taxes, strengthening our schools, or ensuring public safety, all these issues are best addressed at the local level by our Mayors, City Councils and School Boards,” Mizani wrote. “I am excited about the conversations ahead, appreciative of your support, and eager to serve my neighbors once again at Keller Town Hall!” Keller’s mayoral election is May 2020.

HD115: The Texan’s McKenzie Taylor reported former Rep. Matt Rinaldi (R-Irving) will not seek a rematch against Rep. Julie Johnson (D-Addison), who defeated him, 57%-43%, in 2018.

HD121: Alamo Heights homemaker Becca Moyer DeFelice established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of Rep. Steve Allison (R-San Antonio) as a Democrat. 83902

Houston: The Houston Police Officers Union PAC endorsed Mayor Sylvester Turner.
