Filing for the 2020 election continues through December 9. Our Crib Sheets have up-to-date filing status of the candidates we are tracking. At least 289 candidates have already filed, and likely many more have done so. We are seeing far less information from county and state parties than in past election cycles.

SD29: El Paso pet hotel owner Bethany Hatch established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by Sen. Jose Rodriguez (D-El Paso).

HD57: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Rep. Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) for re-election.
