SD12: Sen. Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) confirmed she would seek re-election in a fundraising appeal to supporters. Her official kick-off event is scheduled for October 10.

HD41: Rep. Bobby Guerra (D-Mission) announced he would seek re-election to a fifth term.

HD66: Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed Rep. Matt Shaheen (R-Plano) for re-election.

HD102: Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC endorsed former Rep. Linda Koop (R-Dallas) over Rep. Ana-Maria Ramos (D-Dallas).

CD4 special: Rep. Justin Holland (R-Heath) said in a tweeted statement that he “will be reflecting and praying in the coming days and weeks about how we can best serve our neighbors at this time.” President Trump has said he would nominate U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Heath) as Director of National Intelligence.

CD6: U.S. Rep. Ron Wright (R-Arlington) announced he would begin treatment for lung cancer, for which he said his prognosis is good. Wright intends to seek re-election.

CD18: Houston youth activist Donovan Boson has established a Facebook page for a potential primary challenge of U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Houston). He is at least the fifth individual to take a formal step toward challenging Jackson Lee in the primary.

CD31: U.S. Rep. John Carter (R-Round Rock) tweeted that he would “be back to work in Texas’ 31st Congressional District in no time” following knee replacement surgery. “There is no choice but to upgrade to bionic knees that can keep up with me!”

CD32: Dallas author and former Navy SEAL Floyd McLendon Jr. established a campaign committee and announced he would challenge U.S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-Dallas) as a Republican.
