Voter ID: In a statement, AG Ken Paxton said his office “will be filing a petition this week for the U.S. Supreme Court to review” the rulings issued by federal district and circuit court judges modifying the state’s Voter ID law.

NFIB Endorsements: The PAC of the National Federation of Independent Business/Texas announced its endorsements for the general election, including 46 candidates for state House and five candidates for Senate. All but three – Reps. Bobby Guerra (D-McAllen), Richard Raymond (D-Laredo) and Gene Wu (D-Houston) – endorsed candidates are Republicans. The group also endorsed all three incumbent Supreme Court justices on the ballot.

AGRIC: The Houston Chronicle’s Brian Rosenthal reported that Ag Comm. Sid Miller will not face charges for using state funds for out-of-state travel that included personal activities. Miller reimbursed the state an additional $498, which is on top of the nearly $2,000 he repaid the state earlier this year.

Travis Co.: Republican precinct chairs elected former chair James Dickey to succeed Robert Morrow, who effectively resigned when he filed as a write-in candidate for president. Morrow defeated Dickey in the March primary. Dickey received 60 votes to Brendan Steinhauser’s 26 and Matt Lawrence’s 2.
