RRC open: The Gary Gates campaign announced the endorsements of Reps. Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston), Cindy Burkett (R-Sunnyvale), John Cyrier (R-Lockhart), Gilbert Pena (R-Pasadena), John Raney (R-College Station) and Ron Simmons (R-Lewisville).
SD24 open: The Dawn Buckingham campaign announced the endorsement of three Brown Co. commissioners: Wayne Shaw, Larry Traweek and Gary Worley. Rep. Susan King (R-Abliene) finished first in Brown Co. in the primary with 35% of the vote. Buckingham finished second in with 23%.
HD5 open: Rep. Bryan Hughes (R-Mineola) endorsed Cole Hefner.
HD33 open: Gun Owners of America endorsed John Keating.
HD128: The Wayne Smith campaign released a new short video, “Storm Surge,” featuring Morgan’s Point Mayor Michel Bechtel discussing Smith’s efforts in support of the Coastal Spine Dike.
Austin Prop 1: Ridesharing Works for Austin reported receiving an additional $500K from Uber on May 4, pushing the total contributed by Uber and Lyft to more than $8.6 million. Lyft indicated it has told its Austin drivers that it will cease operations in the city on Monday if Prop 1 is defeated.
