RRC open: The Texas Assoc. of Manufacturers MPACT endorsed former Rep. Wayne Christian.

SD1 open: The David Simpson campaign released a list of 17 school superintendents who have endorsed him, including Longview ISD’s James Wilcox. The others are from Arp, Avinger, Big Sandy, Bloomburg, Carlisle, Chapel Hill, DeKalb, Liberty-Eylau, Maud, New Diana, Sabine, Simms, Tatum, Union Grove, Waskom and White Oak ISDs.

All or part of more than 90 school districts lie within SD1. About 19% of SD1’s population lives within the boundaries of the school districts listed by the campaign.

Bryan Hughes’ web site lists a single school district superintendent endorsement: Alba-Golden ISD’s Dwayne Ellis.

SD24 open: The Texas Hospital Assoc. HOSPAC endorsed Rep. Susan King (R-Abilene). The Independent Bankers Assoc. of Texas PAC and Horseshoe Bay Mayor Steve Jordan endorsed Dawn Buckingham.

HD73: Former CD21 candidate Matt McCall endorsed challenger Kyle Biedermann. McCall received 33% of the vote from HD73 in his unsuccessful challenge of U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith (R-San Antonio). Biedermann and Rep. Doug Miller (R-New Braunfels) are expected to debate on April 21 in Boerne at a candidate forum sponsored by the Boerne TEA Party Patriots, Kendall Co. Republican Club and Kendall Co. Republican Women.

CD19 open: The Glen Robertson campaign released a new ad, “Elites,” that features the candidate listing a series of ways “Washington insiders and establishment elites have failed” the people of West Texas. The ad does not mention or show his opponent. The ad ends with Robertson saying he will “answer to the hard-working families of West Texas, not the privileged elites.”
