Potter County: The commissioner’s court rejected a resolution to withdraw from the Secretary of State’s voting center program. Under the program, voters in the county may vote at any polling location during early voting and on Election Day. The Potter Co. Republican Party last week announced plans to require anyone voting in their primary to do so only at their precinct location and only using hand-marked paper ballots. The county’s refusal to withdraw from the voting center program made that plan impractical. “We no longer seek to hold a separate primary,” county chair Dan Rogers said in a statement. “Our commitment to hand-marked ballots will continue.”
According to the Secretary of State’s most recent report to the Legislature (PDF), 72 counties participate in the countywide polling place program.
