During his State of the State address, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) made election integrity an emergency item, which gives the Legislature the ability to consider legislation on the matter prior to the 60th day of the session. Other emergency items were rural broadband expansion, preventing local governments from “defunding” police, bail reform and civil liability for businesses open during the pandemic.
HB68 special: Runoff candidate Craig Carter’s daughter Lux, 4, and mother-in-law Rose were tragically killed in a car accident yesterday (Sunday), and his son Rex was hospitalized. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
