CD7: The seven former primary opponents of Democratic challenger Lizzie Pannill Fletcher are co-hosting a fundraising reception for her, alongside former Sen. Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth), former gubernatorial candidate Andrew White (D) and former U.S. Senate candidate Barbara Ann Radnofsky (D).
Sherman: Mayor David Plyler has filed for re-election. Attorney and former parks board chair Sholdon Daniels filed for the remainder of the unexpired term of the seat formerly held by Kevin Couch. Last year, Daniels established a federal campaign committee to challenge U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Rockwall) in the primary, but he ultimately did not file for the office. Current AL1 council member Willie Steele, who was appointed to succeed Couch, has not yet filed. Couch unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination to succeed former Rep. Larry Phillips (R-Sherman).
