Polls are open in dozens of political subdivisions across the state as voters elect mayors, council members and school board trustees; evaluate propositions and bond issuances; and fill various unexpired terms. We’ll have live coverage of results beginning at 7 p.m. CDT at txelects.com/live.

Our top focus is on the HD13 special election, which will fill the unexpired term of former Rep. Leighton Schubert (R-Caldwell) and could give a significant edge in the upcoming Republican runoff to either former Grimes County Judge Ben Leman or Bellville energy business owner Jill Wolfskill. However, the presence of Democratic nominee Cecil Webster on the ballot means this special election could be headed to a runoff.

Otherwise we’ll be tracking mayoral and council elections in about 60 of the state’s 100 most populous cities, including a special election in Houston and mayoral elections in Denton, Lubbock and Tyler.

If there is a particular race, proposition or bond election of importance to you, please let us know so we can have it on our radar.

Otherwise, we’ll be live in about two hours.
