A few things we wanted to share with you today:
HD124 Special Election. Another 134 people voted in person today in the HD124 special election, bringing the three-day total to 412. Early voting ends Friday. Annie’s List endorsed Ina Minjarez. The San Antonio Professional Firefighters Assoc. endorsed firefighter Nathan Alonzo. He is the group’s legislative director. Minjarez reported receiving $8K from San Antonio attorney Manuel Pelaez in a telegram report dated March 24. He has contributed $10K to her campaign so far and is her largest single contributor.
Houston Mayor. The Houston Police Officers’ Union and the Houston Professional Firefighters Assoc. endorsed Rep. Sylvester Turner. The police group said it would have considered Sheriff Adrian Garcia if he were an announced candidate.
San Antonio Mayor. Four of the candidates participated in a televised debate this evening: Tommy Adkisson, Mayor Ivy Taylor, Leticia Van de Putte and Mike Villarreal.
Presidential Politics. Former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison said on MSNBC that she will endorse former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
