Fourth Runoff Set. Following the canvass of the HD13 special election today, Gov. Abbott set the runoff for Feb. 17, the same date as the SD26, HD17 and HD123 runoffs.
Cyrier in Elgin. The John Cyrier campaign is holding a meet and greet Thursday evening in Elgin at the Southside Market and BBQ. Elgin Mayor Pro-Tem Chris Cannon, Elgin Chamber of Commerce Chairman Brian Bracewell and Elgin Chamber Treasurer Ed Rivers are the host committee. Cyrier received 37% of the vote in the precinct containing Elgin. Runoff opponent Brent Golemon and independent Linda Curtis tied for second with 22%.
Travis Co. Filing. Longtime Capitol staffer and Democratic activist David Holmes filed paperwork today establishing a campaign committee for County Commissioner, Place 3. Incumbent Gerald Daugherty (R) won in 2012 with 48% of the vote.
