A few things we wanted to share with you today:

HD124 Runoff. A total of 283 people voted in person today in the first day of early voting. which is an improvement over the special election, when 278 people voted in person in the first two days of early voting.

Meanwhile, runoff campaign finance reports were due today. Delicia Herrera’s was posted online. She reports $15K in contributions and less than $1.5K in expenditures. Ina Minjarez’s report should be available tomorrow.

The Delicia Herrera campaign announced it has received the endorsements of the San Antonio Board of Realtors, San Antonio Fire and Police Pensioners’ Association, the Mexican American Democrats of Texas, African American Political Alliance, Northside Coalition of Democratic Women and the San Antonio Park Police Officer’s Association. Some of these had been previously announced.

San Antonio Mayor. Seven of the 14 candidates appeared at a forum tonight in the northwest side of town. Mayor Ivy Taylor was not one of them. There have now been about three dozen public forums and debates among the candidates in the past two months.

CD15. Former Rio Grande City Mayor Ruben Villarreal announced this weekend that he would seek the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Ruben Hinojosa (D-Edinburg) in 2016. Mission police officer Paul Williams had previously announced his plans to challenge Hinojosa in the Democratic primary.

New CTAs. No campaign treasurer appointments of note have been filed since our last report.
