Congressional incumbents and candidates raised more than $19.2M during the third quarter of 2021 and collectively reported having $46.7M on hand, according to October quarterly campaign finance reports filed through today (Friday).

The 10 highest contribution totals were reported by:

  • S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Houston) – $2.91M
  • Wesley Hunt (R) – $1.03M
  • S. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D-Houston) – $805K
  • S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-McAllen) – $714K
  • S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-Dallas) – $666K
  • S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) – $646K
  • S. Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-Amarillo) – $626K
  • S. Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-Waxahachie) – $603K
  • S. Rep. Tony Gonzales II (R-San Antonio) – $584K
  • Monica De la Cruz-Hernandez (R) – $538K

Despite not being on the ballot until 2024, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R) reported raising $3.2M for the quarter, including transfers from authorized committees. U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R) raised $265K.

CD8 open: Morgan Luttrell (R) raised $276K and reported having $665K on hand, dwarfing other candidates who filed reports as of press time. Jonathan Hullihan (R) raised $41K, and Taylor Whitchard IV (R) raised $22K.

CD12: U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) out-raised primary challenger Chris Putnam, $222K to $160K, and she has a $614K to $411K advantage in cash on hand.

CD15: Monica De la Cruz-Hernandez raised $538K and has $422K on hand for what could become an open-seat race if U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-McAllen) runs for open CD34. He raised $714K and has $2.1M on hand.

CD20: Republican challenger Mauro Garza out-raised U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio), $120K to $85K, and he has a $365K to $202K advantage in cash on hand over the incumbent.

CD24: In the Democratic race to challenge U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-Irving), Derrik Gay out-raised Rep. Michelle Beckley (D-Carrollton), $144K to $94K, and he has a $78K to $51K advantage in cash on hand. Van Duyne raised $452K and has $1.1M on hand.

CD28: Primary challenger Jessica Cisneros raised $421K and has $312K on hand. U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) raised $646K and has $2.2M on hand.

CD30: For the third straight quarter, U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Dallas) raised less than $5K. Jane Hope Hamilton (D) and Jessica Mason (D) each raised more than $50K for the quarter.

CD31: U.S. Rep. John Carter (R-Round Rock) raised $175K and has $487K on hand. Donna Imam led the Democratic field with $106K in contributions and $89K on hand.

CD32: 2020 Republican challenger Genevieve Collins reported no contributions for the second straight quarter.

CD34 open: Rochelle Garza (D) raised $199K and has $144K on hand. Republican rival Mayra Flores raised $60K and has $68K on hand.
