Percent of SD13 precincts which are also part of Harris Co. Commissioner Precinct 1. SD13 includes 45% of the precincts located in the district of the late Commissioner El Franco Lee, who passed away on January 3 at the age of 66.

Lee was the only candidate to file for the office. Earlier today, Quorum Report reported that Sen. Rodney Ellis (D-Houston), who is unopposed in his re-election bid, could be considering the county commissioner’s post. An Ellis spokesman said it was “premature to focus” on that possibility right now.
