Minjarez and Herrera advance to runoff. The 1,981 ballots cast is the fewest for a special election for a House seat since at least 1992. Districtwide turnout is 2.3%.

With 4 boxes out, it looks like a runoff between Ina Minjarez and Delicia Herrera. Nathan Alonzo has been unable to close the (narrow) gap with Herrera and currently trails her by 89 votes.

Polls close in 90 minutes for the HD124 special election. Fewer than 1,000 people voted early in person last week, putting this race on a course for record-low turnout, at least since the early 1990s. A runoff is expected.
