The HD13 special election is next Tuesday. Early voting is underway.

Have a good night!

9:15 p.m.

SD26 (95% reporting):

Martinez Fischer 44%
Menendez 25%
Jackson 20%
Pedrotti 7%
Suarez 3%

HD17 (100% reporting):

Cyrier 46%
Golemon 24%
Curtis 14%
McDonald 12%
Cartier 4%

After receiving 69% of the Caldwell Co. early vote, Cyrier received 54% of the Election Day vote. Barring any reporting errors, that drop-off sealed the runoff for Golemon. Independent Linda Curtis took 12% of Election Day vote after taking just 3% of EV.

HD123 (100% reporting):

Bernal 47%
Previtera 21%
Aguillon 18%
Martinez 11%
Gary 1%
Ingmundson 1%

8:50 p.m.

SD26: With 83% reporting, Martinez Fischer (44%) and Menendez (26%) headed to runoff. The two Republicans combined are pulling 27%.

HD123: With 91% reporting, Bernal (47%) and Previtera (21%) appear headed to runoff.

HD17: With Caldwell Co. still out, Cyrier (45% — though likely to approach 49%) and Golemon (25%) appear headed to runoff.

8:30 p.m.

As of this moment, it appears that we will have runoffs in SD26, HD123 and HD17.

SD26 (51% reporting):

Martinez Fischer 44
Menendez 25
Jackson 20
Pedrotti 7
Suarez 4

Had there been only 1 Republican in the race, Menendez might be looking at a third-place finish. As it is, he is comfortably in run-off position.

HD123 (51% reporting):

Bernal 47.6
Previtera 21
Aguillon 18
Martinez 11
Minor Parties 2

Looks like a Republican will make this runoff. Aguillon trails Previtera by 174 votes.

HD17 (54% reporting):

Cyrier 45.0
Goleman 25
Curtis 14
McDonald 12
Cartier 3

Cyrier’s home county of Caldwell is the only one out. He received 69% of the vote there in early voting. He is currently 337 votes short of an outright majority. In early voting, he received 127 votes above a majority. He would need a significant final  election day boost to receive the 337 he needs (The 127 does not count toward that 337 – he is starting from zero).

8 p.m.

With some precincts beginning to report Election Day results:

SD26

With 10% of precincts reporting:

Martinez Fischer 44
Menendez 25
Jackson 20
Pedrotti 7
Suarez 3

HD123

With 9% of precincts reporting:

Bernal 46
Previtera 22
Aguillon 19 (108-vote gap)
Martinez 11
Gary 1
Igmundson 1

HD17

Cyrier is at 49.95% with all EV and four Gonzales Co. precincts reporting. He is over 60% in every county except Bastrop Co.:

  • Bastrop Co.: 35% of early votes
  • Caldwell Co.: 69% of early votes
  • Gonzales Co.: 67% of early votes, 69% of ED votes (4/6 precincts reporting)
  • Karnes Co.: 65% of early votes, and
  • Lee Co.: 60% of early votes

Bastrop Co. accounted for 54% of all early votes cast. If that percentage holds, and his 35% there holds, he would need to receive just over 68% of the vote in the other four counties to avoid a runoff. He is currently at 68%.

7:20 p.m.

HD17

All counties’ EV is in:

Cyrier 49
Golemon 26
McDonald 13
Curtis 8
Cartier 4

Cyrier is 41 votes below the 50%-plus-1 needed to avoid a runoff.

Cyrier received 69% of the vote in his home base of Caldwell Co. in early voting.
