Final update – all precincts reporting (We’ve been waiting on Lavaca Co.):

Bilski (43%) and Schubert (33%) head to runoff. Democrat Webster third (13%), Berger fourth (11%).

Runoff will be called by Gov.-elect Abbott following state canvass.

8:30 p.m.

60% of precincts reporting:

Bilski 43, Schubert 32, Webster 15, Berger 11

Still out are Austin Co. (Bilski 54, Schubert 30 in EV), Burleson Co. (Schubert 74, Bilski 7) and Lavaca Co. (Bilski 47, Schubert 15).

8:10 p.m.

Election Day results are beginning to be reported. We have seen numbers for Washington Co. (all precincts) and Fayette Co. (3 of 6 precincts), which puts the race at:

Bilski 42, Schubert 34. Webster 14, Berger 10

7:40 p.m.

All early votes are in. It appears Bilski and Schubert will advance to a runoff.

Schubert received 74% of the EV in Burleson Co. but trails Bilski in all others.


Five of the seven counties are reporting early numbers:

Bilski 44, Schubert 37, Webster 12, Berger 7

Burleson Co. (Schubert’s home) and Lavaca Co. have not yet reported any votes.
