On the eve of campaign finance reports being due, the Greg Abbott campaign announced he raised $8.6 million during the first six months of 2016, and he has nearly $29 million on hand. That latter figure is likely to be, once again, more than the combined cash on hand of all incumbent members of the Texas congressional delegation, whose campaign finance reports are also due Friday.

By our calculations, he has raised ~$23.5 million since the end of the last legislative session and more than $70 million since January 1, 2013. Since 1995, Abbott has raised more than $113 million.

Most of these campaign finance reports will not become available online until Monday, so most of our analysis will be next week.
