HD58: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Rep. DeWayne Burns (R-Cleburne) for re-election.
HD70: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Rep. Scott Sanford (R-McKinney) for re-election.
HD97: We missed it when it happened, so we’re late to report Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Rep. Craig Goldman (R-Fort Worth) for re-election.
HD138: Harris Co. Dept. of Education board member and former State Republican Executive Committee member Josh Flynn, son of Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Van), re-established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston). Flynn was elected to the county school board in 2018 (50.3%). We previously reported that Josh Flynn was “very interested” in the race.
CD17 open: Pflugerville aerospace business owner George Hindman established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Bill Flores (R-Bryan) as a Republican. Hindman unsuccessfully challenged Flores in the 2012 Republican primary (18%) and lost races for Austin council D1 in 2014 (7%) and SD14 in 2018 (25%).
CD22 open: Pearland resident Johnathan Camarillo established a campaign committee for a potential run for the seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) as a Republican.
