HD28 special: Annie’s List endorsed Eliz Markowitz, the lone Democrat in the field.
HD55: Rep. Hugh Shine (R-Temple) announced he would seek re-election to a fifth term.
HD91: Haltom City resident Charlie Levitt established a campaign committee for a potential primary challenge of Rep. Stephanie Klick (R-Fort Worth). Levitt is the vice president of the True Texas Project, which was formerly the NE Tarrant Tea Party, of which he was a board member. Klick’s website lists Levitt, identified as an HD91 precinct chair, as a supporter, although this was likely for her 2018 re-election campaign.
HD100 special: Annie’s List endorsed Lorraine Birabil.
HD112: Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed Rep. Angie Chen Button (R-Garland) for re-election.
CD35: San Antonio attorney Nick Moutos established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) as a Republican.
Nueces Co.: Prosecutor Jon West (R) announced he would challenge District Atty. Mark Gonzalez (D).
