AG: The Marshall News-Messenger endorsed Democratic challenger Justin Nelson over Atty. Gen. Ken Paxton (R).

SEN: A GBA Strategies poll conducted (PDF) for End Citizens United shows U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R) leading U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso), 50%-46%, with Libertarian nominee Neal Dikeman polling at 2%. The poll finds “likely voters” evenly divided on President Trump’s favorability (46/47). The survey of 1,000 “likely voters” included intentional oversamples of voters in the San Antonio media market and Harris Co. suburbs. Its stated margin of error is ±4.0%.

Meanwhile, the Beaumont Enterprise and Marshall News-Messenger endorsed Cruz. Also, MSNBC will hold a town hall with O’Rourke at the Univ. of Houston on October 30 moderated by Chris Matthews.

CD1: The Marshall News-Messenger endorsed U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tyler).

CD17: The Bryan-College Station Eagle endorsed U.S. Re; Bill Flores (R-Bryan).

CD21: A WPAi poll conducted (PDF) for Club for Growth Action finds Republican nominee Chip Roy leading Democratic nominee Joseph Kopser, 50%-38%. Roy’s favorability rating was 32/15 and Kopser’s was 20/16. Roy’s name identification was at 65%, 10 points more than Kopser. No other information was provided. The poll of 401 “likely voters” was conducted via live telephone interviews October 17-20. Its stated margin of error is ±4.9%.

CD25: The campaign of Democratic challenger Julie Oliver released a new ad, “Save” focused on health care and her son.

CD32: The campaign of Democratic challenger Colin Allred released a new ad, “Cheap Shots,” drawing contrasts between him and U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) “and his Washington friends.”
