SD27: San Benito Mayor Joe Hernandez endorsed challenger Sara Stapleton Barrera in the Democratic runoff over Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr. (D-Brownsville).
HD65: The Associated Republicans of Texas PAC endorsed Kronda Thimesch, who is challenging Rep. Michelle Beckley (D-Carrollton).
CD17 open: The Renee Swann campaign released a new ad criticizing China and former U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) for votes on trade deals.
Travis Co.: County Attorney David Escamilla (D) endorsed Laurie Eiserloh in the Democratic runoff over Austin council member Delia Garza.
Absentee Eligibility: The Texas Democratic Party has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to vacate (PDF) the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal’s stay in the federal vote-by-mail eligibility case. The plaintiffs-appellees are seeking to have the District Court’s preliminary injunction reinstated for next month’s primary runoff and the general elections.
