Early voting concludes tomorrow (Tuesday) in the handful of jurisdictions holding runoff elections on Saturday. Voters in South Padre Island will elect a new mayor, and Tyler voters will settle the D3 council race between nurse Shirley McKellar, who has lost three races for Congress against U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tyler) and one race for the CD1 Democratic nomination, and business owner Pamela Phoenix, a zoning board member.
CD21: San Antonio Army veteran Alan Ellis established a campaign committee for a potential challenge of U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Austin) as a Democrat.
Houston: Term-limited council member Ellen Cohen endorsed Abbie Kamin to succeed her in District C.
